Community-Led. Community-Built.
CALD Connections is a not-for-profit organisation born from the community it serves.
A WA where every person from every background feels at home, connected, and supported.
Free, culturally safe programs that help diverse communities in Perth's northern suburbs connect, grow, and thrive.
We Started at a Kitchen Table
CALD Connections was started by community members who had lived the experience of arriving somewhere new. They knew what it felt like to not know where to go, who to trust, or how to ask for help.
We registered as a not-for-profit and built our first programs in Balcatta in 2022. We started small and grew because the community told us what they needed.
Today we serve 500+ community members across Perth's northern suburbs, running free community programs in four languages.

Mental Health & Wellbeing
Mental health looks different in different cultures. Our workshops are designed with that in mind — safe, non-clinical spaces where you can talk, listen, and connect with people who understand your background.
We run group sessions and one-on-one conversations in Arabic, Dari, Swahili, and English. No clinical jargon. No judgment. Seeking support is a sign of strength.
Sessions are led by trained facilitators from Muslim and CALD backgrounds who understand the cultural and religious dimensions of mental wellbeing. We respect the role of faith, family, and community in your healing.
What's Included

Senior & Women Empowerment
Older community members and women from diverse backgrounds often face isolation, language barriers, and limited social networks. Our programs change that.
Monthly social gatherings, skills workshops, and community outings designed for multicultural seniors and women. All activities are culturally respectful, halal catered, and held in community languages.
Our women's programs are women-only spaces, respecting the needs of Muslim women to have safe, gender-segregated environments.
What's Included

Youth Development & Leadership
Growing up between cultures is complex. Our youth programs support young people from diverse backgrounds to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and connect with each other.
From public speaking workshops to community projects, we help young CALD Australians step into their potential while staying grounded in their cultural identity and faith.
Programs are mixed-gender with separate activities available on request. We work with community leaders and youth workers from Muslim backgrounds.
What's Included

Cultural Engagement & Inclusion
Our cultural programs bring communities together through shared activities, celebrations, and conversations. We mark significant cultural events and create spaces where different traditions meet and are respected.
We celebrate Islamic events including Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, as well as cultural celebrations from East African, Afghan, and other CALD communities.
What's Included
